When we booked our tour package through Azores Getaways, we were so fortunate to have several day trips through ComunicAir. Each one was excellent and each guide showed a passion for the history of Terceira and its special trails, lookouts, & landmarks. The day trips we took were 2-8persons and were personalized to the group. The knowledge of the guides was phenomenal and included info on plants, volcanoes, wine growing, ocean activity, lava formations, fortresses, cloud & wind movements & agriculture-farming activities. More importantly, the guides were so engaged, they were like friends and it made our experiences a memory to cherish. Tiago & Isabel, who own the company, are very responsive & operate the highest quality service with unlimited energy. And, they will adjust tours to accommodate the varying weather patterns so your tour is at its best. We did not take their sea kayaking or hot air balloon tours, but know they would have been great based on our other experiences. Highly recommended for great adventures on Terceira.
I don't typically leave reviews, and although they did not ask me to do so, I feel compelled to recommend ComunicAir. I have just arrived home from a wonderful week in the Azores on Terceira where a friend and I explored the island alone as well as on various tours. All were great, but the Jeep tour by ComunicAir really stood out and that is because of our guide, Tiago.It was clear from the moment we booked that Tiago loves taking people on explorations of the island (by foot, on bikes, by jeep or even hot air balloon) and sharing his love and knowledge of the island. The Jeep tour allowed us to explore a great deal of the island from the ocean lava rock pools to the dark forest and from Santa Barbara to the depth of the dormant volcano. And, the tour included lunch at a typical Azorean restaurant that was delicious.We scheduled our tour for a Monday, but as the volcano was going to be closed and Tiago knew that was tops on our list of things to do, he took a couple of hours out of his Sunday to take us there. I found that to be extraordinary. After spending 12+ hours with Tiago we were sad to have the tour end-- because it continued to feel like being out with a great friend. I look forward to going back to Terceira and taking other tours with ComunicAir. This time I'll try both group and individual types and if the weather is spectacular maybe I'll see the island from a hot air balloon too. Thanks ComunicAir & Tiago!
